Spirit Complete Deal with Belleville

The Saginaw Spirit have completed a deal with the Belleville Bulls of the Eastern Conference, sending overage defenseman Joe Underwood to the Bulls in return for a eighth round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.

Underwood was a four season veteran of the Spirit, five of the Ontario Hockey League.  The Canton, Michigan native was drafted into the OHL by the Guelph Storm in 2006 .  In his regular season career Underwood posted seven goals and 45 assists for 52 points in 271 games.  This season he tallied one goal and seven assists for eight points with a plus-9 in 22 games.
