Spirit to pick 15th overall in 2018 CHL Import Draft

The Saginaw Spirit prepare for the 2018 CHL Import Draft set for Thursday, June 28 at 11:00 am ET. The draft will take place online at www.chl.ca/draft

 

The two-round draft will take place online with the order of selection rotating through each of the CHL’s three leagues using an inverse order of final regular season standings within each league from the 2017-18 season.

 

This season, the Spirit will select 15th overall in the first round, and 75th overall in the second round. With the addition of Albert Michnac from the Mississauga Steelheads, the Spirit will pass on their second round CHL Import Pick. 2017 Carolina Hurricanes first round pick Martin Necas remains on the team’s protected list.

 

Some notable acquisitions in past CHL Import Drafts include: Georgi Misharin (2003-04), Marek Kvapil (2004-05), Michal Birner (2004-06), Jan Mursak (2006-07), Ivan Telegin (2009-11), and Filip Hronek (2016-17).
