Spirit announce 2022 Exhibition schedule
Saginaw, MI – The Saginaw Spirit, in conjunction with the Ontario Hockey League, announced Tuesday (July 12) their 2022 pre-season schedule including a total of six exhibition games.
The Spirit open the 2022 pre-season on Labor Day weekend when they travel to Erie, PA to host the OHL Champion Hamilton Bulldogs, Saturday, Sept. 3 at 2:00 p.m.
Saginaw then faces the Otters in Erie on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 2:00 p.m.
The Spirit return to the Great Lakes Bay Region to host the Soo Greyhounds on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7:05 p.m. The game will be played at Midland Civic Arena in Midland, Michigan.
“The Saginaw Spirit fan base comes from a broad area of the Great Lakes Bay Region. We are grateful to our valued Midland fans as they are key stakeholders in our fan base,” said Spirit President & Managing Partner Craig Goslin. “Combining sponsorship and ticketing, Midland County makes up approximately 30% of the revenue of the Saginaw Spirit financials. With this in mind, we thought it was very appropriate to hold one of our preseason games in Midland at the Midland Civic Arena.”
The next night, the Spirit travel up I-75 to face the Greyhounds at 7:07 on Sept. 10.
The Spirit finish their pre-season docket with a home-and-home set against the Flint Firebirds. Saginaw hosts Flint on Friday, Sept. 23 at The Dow Event Center. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
On Sat. Sept. 24, the Spirit travel to Flint to face the Firebirds at their practice facility, Flint Iceland Arenas. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for Spirit home preseason games go on sale along with single-game, regular season tickets on August 15 at 9:00am. Pre-season general admission tickets are $10 and available in-person at the Saginaw Spirit Store at 6321 State Street in Saginaw Township or by phone (989) 497-7747, or day of game at Midland Civic Arena on Sept. 9 and at The Dow Event Center on Sept. 23.
