Spirit add Moore, Warren in 2022 OHL U18 Priority Selection

Saginaw, Mich. – The Saginaw Spirit added two prospects to their stable Thursday night during the 2022 OHL U18 Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstores.
After winning the draft lottery, the Spirit earned the number one selection in this draft as well as the OHL Priority Selection that took place April 29-30.
With the No. 1 overall pick the Spirit selected Lincoln Moore from the Soo Jr. Greyhounds U18 team. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native is the second straight first round pick the Spirit have used in this draft on an Soo Jr. Greyhounds U18 player. Last year, the Spirit used their first round U18 selection on current member of the roster, Calem Mangone. Moore had 37 points in 24 games this season for the Greyhounds U18 team, leading the squad in scoring. Moore was also named the Most Valuable Player and the League’s top forward in the Great North Midget League.
With the 21st overall pick in the U18 Priority Selection, the Spirit drafted defenseman Trent Warren from the North York Rangers U18. The Uxbridge, Ontario native stands 6’2, 170-pounds.
The Saginaw Spirit and Erie Otters each had three players on their 2021-22 active roster selected from the OHL U18 Priority Selection, the most of any other teams in the Ontario Hockey League. Calem Mangone (2021, 1st round), Charlie Fink (2021, 2nd round) and Ian Phillips (2020, 3rd round).
