Misa finishes season as leading rookie scorer

Saginaw, Mich. – With 56 points (22G, 34A) during his rookie campaign, 2022 first overall selection and Exceptional Status player Michael Misa has won the OHL rookie scoring title.

With an assist in the final game of the regular season, Misa’s 56 points in just 45 games give him a points per game average of 1.24, the highest of any OHL exceptional status player. The second-closest is John Tavares, who put up 77 points in 65 games for 1.18 PPG with Oshawa in 2005-06

Misa is just the sixth Exceptional Status player in the Ontario Hockey League, and the first in Saginaw Spirit history.

Misa and the Spirit now turn their attention to the postseason and a first-round date with the Flint Firebirds.
