Spirit Announce Signing of First Round Import Draft Selection

The Saginaw Spirit announces today the signing of forward Vadim Khlopotov to an OHL contract. Khlopotov was the Spirit’s first round selection in 2011 CHL Import Draft, selected 43rd overall. The 1994 birth year native of Russia spent the 2010/11 season skating for the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv 94 club and the Russian U17 National Team serving as Team Captain with the Lokomotiv.

Khlopotov recently participated in 2011 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament where he helped his home country earn a Bronze Medal at the event, and he is eligible for the 2012 NHL Draft.
