We Are Hiring: How YOU can be become a part of the 2017-18 Saginaw Spirit Staff

The Saginaw Spirit are looking to fill the following positions:

  • Saginaw Spirit Ice Team Crew

Details:  The Saginaw Spirit Ice Crew Team is a high-energy ice maintenance and interactive team. Ideal team members will be out-going, athletic, comfortable skaters who are interested in ice maintenance, are extremely comfortable on camera in a high-energy hockey environment.

Responsibilities: Skating on the ice to remove snow and ice build-up during media timeouts. Execute in-game promotions including, but not limited to, t-shirt tosses, game ceremonies, and intermission contests. Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Requirements: Ice Crew Interactive Team members will need to have a flexible schedule and the ability to work irregular hours, various shifts, nights, weekends and holidays to attend at least 30 Saginaw Spirit home hockey games during the 2017-2018 Saginaw Spirit Season, arriving at least 1.5 hours before the puck drop and staying through the end of the game. Successful candidates must display adequate ice skating abilities as well as their own skates to perform shoveling procedures.

  • Saginaw Spirit Mascot Performer

Details: The Saginaw Spirit are seeking a humorous and dynamic performer to entertain Spirit Nation for the 2017-2018 Saginaw Spirit Season. The successful candidate will entertain fans at home games, special events and community appearances. This individual will bring energy and passion into the game-night in-arena experience as well as nurture fan relationship at external events. Please note that this is a part-time position. The team will entertain several candidates to fill the entirety of the role.

Responsibilities: As the Saginaw Spirit Mascot Performer, an individual must maintain an animated personality with good interpersonal communication skills and creativity, must be able to communicate nonverbally and create spontaneous crowd interaction. Must have a great sense of humor and enjoy interacting with others. Be available and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to attend at least 30 Saginaw Spirit home hockey games during the 2017-2018 Saginaw Spirit Season.

Requirements: Candidates must be 16 years or older, able to work pro-actively and independently, have a can-do attitude and your own transportation. Due to costume restrictions, preferred height range of 5’8” to 6’4”. The ability to ice skate is not a requirement but is preferred.

  • Seasonal Guest Services Attendant

Details: The Saginaw Spirit are seeking Guest Service Attendants  to assist with the guest experience at The Dow Event Center during the 2017-2018 Saginaw Spirit Hockey Season. A Guest Service Attendant will act as primary provider of direct service to guests as they are entertained at Saginaw Spirit home hockey games. They are responsible for providing a safe environment for our guests and ensuring all service needs are met. Guest Service Attendants will work in positions as needed including but not limited to; suite usher and VIP parking attendant.

Responsibilities: As a Saginaw Spirit Guest Services Attendant an individual will be have the following responsibilities but not limited to; Providing exceptional customer service to all guests, greeting guests and collect tickets as they enter the building or section assigned. Ensuring guest compliance with outside food/beverage and camera building policies. To usher guests to their seats and provide directional assistance throughout facility, as well as monitor guest conduct and provide assistance to guests.

Requirements: Candidates are expected to display exceptional customer service skills, with an outgoing and friendly personality. An ideal candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. They must also be able to stand on their feet for at least 4 hour periods at a time and work both independently and as part of a team in a flexible role.

  • Saginaw Spirit Game Day Operations Internship

Details: The Saginaw Spirit are seeking for individuals who will assist in the coordination and production of promotional entertainment for all Saginaw Spirit home hockey games for the 2017-2018 season. Game Day Operations Interns are responsible for providing a fun and entertaining evening for all guest in attendance at The Dow Event Center.

Responsibilities: As part of the Saginaw Spirit Game Day Internship an individual is responsible but not limited to; preparing on/off ice ceremonies, intermission activities, game day giveaways, contestant signup and registration, and providing exceptional guest services for Spirit fans. Game Day Operations Internship participants will have the opportunity to develop as a professional by assisting with day to day marketing and promotional tasks on non-game days.

Requirements: Internship applicants must be students at accredited colleges and universities. Candidates are expected to display exceptional customer service skills, with an outgoing and friendly personality. An ideal candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ice skating abilities are not required but are preferred. . The internship will run from August 2017-May 2018.

  • Saginaw Spirit Ticketing and Merchandise Internship

Details: The Saginaw Spirit are seeking for individuals to assist with the day-to-day ticketing and merchandising operations of the Saginaw Spirit for the 2017-2018 hockey season.

Responsibilities: As part of the Saginaw Spirit Ticketing and Merchandise Internship an individual will be responsible but not limited to; assisting with online, window, and phone ticket orders, executing office day-to-day office procedures, assist with box office/will call booth duties when needed, as well as assisting with merchandise booth on game day.

Requirements: : Internship applicants must be students at accredited colleges and universities. Candidates are expected to display exceptional customer service skills, with an outgoing and friendly personality. An ideal candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. The internship will run from August 2017-May 2018.

  • Saginaw Spirit Hockey Operations Internship

Details: The Saginaw Spirit are seeking for individuals to assist with the day-to-day hockey operations tasks for the 2017-2018 Saginaw Spirit Hockey Season.

Responsibilities: As part of the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Operations Internship an individual will be responsible but not limited to; assisting with team video production and statistical complication during Saginaw Spirit home games.

Requirements: Candidates are expected to display exceptional hockey operations knowledge, with an outgoing and friendly personality. An ideal candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ice skating abilities are not required but are preferred. Traveling with the team is not required at this time, a valid U.S. Passport or Extended License is recommended. The internship will run from August 2017-June 2018.
