Spirit hire Lester Tiu as Equipment Manager

Saginaw, Michigan, – The Saginaw Spirit is proud to announce that Lester Tiu will be joining the organization for 2018-19 season as the team’s Equipment Manager. Tiu has a plethora of experience in the OHL, including stints as Head Equipment Manager with the Sarnia Sting and Assistant Equipment Manager with the Mississauga Steelheads.


Tiu has a B.A. in Economics and Statistical Mathematics from York University and is a member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers since 2014. Tiu also spent the off-season in 2014 with the OHL Under-15 Program of Excellence. For the last three years, Tiu has been a Development Camp Assistant for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League.


“As a franchise, we are pleased to welcome Lester Tiu to the Spirit family,” said Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill. “Lester is very passionate about his craft and brings a wealth of experience. He will be a great addition to our staff.”
